Stocks
A playable stock consists of:
i) a base (largest and heaviest part).
ii) a handle
iii) a plate (various speed ratings)
The base on it's own is also usually just referred to as a "stock" as well.
The are 3 kinds of stocks:
L type The heaviest stock. Preferred by stronger/experienced players.
Advantages = harder to move when stationery.
P type A lighter stock. Suitable for females; adolescents and less experienced players.
E type The lightest stock (rare). Suitable as a transitional plate for beginners.
Not allowed in some national competitions.
The various stock types can be identified by the initial L, P or E showing on the upper side of the stock.
